Pencil Seat Markers

Nothing says “Welcome back to school!” like a sweet treat. Mark each student’s seat with a personalized candy pencil.

Shop at Dollar Tree – Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Rolled Candy – Mentos®, Rolos®, etc.
• Hershey’s® Kisses
• Construction Paper
• Glue Stick
• Double-Sided Tape
• Aluminum Foil
• Scissors
• Black Fine-Point Marker or Pen

Easy Step-by-Step Directions:

1. To create each pencil, cut out a yellow construction paper rectangle that is the length of the rolled candy and long enough to wrap all the way around with at least ½" of overlap.
2. Cut a 1"-wide strip of pink construction paper and trim it to the same length as the yellow rectangle.
3. Fold a strip of aluminum foil a few times to form a ¼" strip. Cut to the same length as the pink and yellow papers.
4. Arrange the strips to resemble a pencil (pink, silver, yellow) and glue together with the glue stick. Use the pen or marker to write each student’s name.
5. Wrap the rectangle around the rolled candy and use double-sided tape to hold Use the candy roll to trace circles on the pink construction paper. Cut out circles and tape to the “eraser” end of each pencil.
6. Use double-sided tape to create a pencil point with a Hershey’s® Kiss.
